We couldn’t have done it without you

A big thank you to Malaysia and Dr (Potong Potong) Mahathir. We couldn’t have done it without you. Oh yeah - thanks also for so generously sending many of your brightest kids to our universities; like this one.

After Singapore separation from Malaysia, from day one the govt knew that certain Malaysian politicians wanted to do our country in. Even the mild mannered Tengku threatened to cut water supply to Singapore, but nothing compared to the the threats thrown at us by Dr M. One day my uncle (a ex Malaysian, who was then working with JTC in the sixties, secretly told me that there was a scientist, from a certain country, was helping Singapore to turn comtaminated water to pure drinking water. In short, the research on recycled water was on-going for a long period of time until the birth of Newater. Ironically this 'baby' (Newater) was delivered by a brilliant ex-Malaysian girl from Ipoh. Now Singapore not only survived the thirst, but has won international recognition for producing recycled water, marching ahead to make more revenue from this niche industry, not forgetting to help needy countries at the same time. Dr M is still around to see our success. Cheers.
